Sanctity of Life Sunday
Sunday, January 19, 2025
Persistent prayer is a core value of Oak Hills Church. On Sunday, January 19, Oak Hills will join with churches around our community and our country in praying for the unborn.
At Oak Hills Church, we believe all life is sacred and made in the image of God. Our Oak Hills vision is to courageously engage culture with the hope of Jesus where we live, work, learn and play. One way we courageously engage our culture today is by standing up for the valuing of every human life. The Gospel compels us to share truth in love and to point people to the hope of Jesus, especially when facing difficult choices or fear of the unknown. We also know that God's abundant love and grace is available to all. Sanctity of Life Sunday can be the beginning of healing if you or someone you know is facing an unplanned pregnancy or carrying the burden of an abortion in their past.
We also recognize that there are men and women in our community who have chosen to terminate an unexpected pregnancy… a choice that results in long-lasting regret and shame. Maybe that’s you, and the memory of that choice makes you believe that God can’t forgive you. We want you to know that God’s grace is sufficient. God wants you to make a God-honoring and life-honoring choice; the choice to receive the gift of God’s grace and forgiveness through Jesus, and to do what is often the most difficult thing: to forgive yourself.
Your Oak Hills family is here to care for you. Our prayer ministers and care ministry are here and available to listen and to pray with you. On Sunday, January 19, we will have representatives from our community partners in the lobby following each service. We are so grateful for the work of the Hill Country Pregnancy Care Center, Meant to Soar, our own Foster/Adopt Ministry, Genesis Counseling and the AWC Center. As well as for our Threads of Love Ministry right here on the OHC campus. They are committed to providing Christ-centered guidance for the preservation of life for those facing an unexpected pregnancy. Just as important for them is to be a place of healing and of discovering God’s grace and forgiveness.
