Helping Without Hurting Class (SEE EQUIPPING FOR FAMILY MENTORING CLASS - LOCAL OUTREACH PAGE)

Details

This 6-week class is the starting point for participating in our Family Mentoring Ministry. Based on the book When Helping Hurts, we explore a Biblical approach to understanding poverty and working with the materially poor to bring hope and dignity. This group class - facilitated by OHC's Outreach Staff - will help you explore ways to apply foundational poverty concepts in our church and community. Together, learn how poverty results from broken relationships and discover how you can join in Jesus' work of restoring that brokenness.

We will meet together on Sunday's at Oak Hills Church from 9:00-10:15am, from September 19 through October 24

We will use 2 books as our curriculum:

  1. When Helping Hurts, the Book How to alleviate poverty without hurting the poor and yourself
  2. When Helping Hurts Study Guide - The small group experience provides homework and discussion for participants
